RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS
Genetic markers in Portuguese domestic animal breeds, especially mitochondrial DNA, and Y chromosome and autosomal microsatelites in Canis familiaris and Sus Scrofa.

EDUCATION
2006- PhD student in Biology, Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade do Porto. I develop my research at IPATIMUP, Population Genetics Group, supervised by Professor António Amorim.
2003 -BSc in Microbiology, Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

A trans-specific genomic analysis to comprehend the physiological impact of inactivated genes.

OTHER INTERESTS
My two sons. Travel and adventure literature from the 19th and 20th centuries, cooking and music (mostly jazz, and my own compositions).
